All Hearing Devices have very sensitive microphones with the ability to pick up the slightest movement in the air. Without this you would not be able to hear an ‘S’ sound from across the room.
The unfortunate downside to this is when you are out in the wind, this can cause a buffeting on the microphones, creating an uncomfortable roaring sound.
